Board of Trustees Regular Meeting July 14 , 2020

Meeting was called to order at 10:00am. Pledge was said. Present were Joy Marshall, William Zimmerman, Bill Newyear, Janice Painter, and Susan Wonderly.  Guests present were Amy Bruno, Alysha Wogee, Carlton McCashlin, John Koenig.

Approval of Agenda/Consent of agenda: Chris Zimmerman asked that the agenda be approved. Bill Newyear made a motion to accept the agenda: Janice Painter, seconded and the motion carried. 

Public Comment: None.

Approval of minutes of 06/08/20 meeting: The meeting minutes were approved. Bill Newyear made a motion to accept the minutes of the previous meeting; Joy Marshall seconded and the motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: (attached) Susan noted that the current report is attached and it was reviewed. 

Vouchers were signed by board members present and the others will sign today.

Librarian’s report: Susan discussed the Librarian’s Report (attached). 

Phase One Library Opening: Susan discussed the activities are of the library since reopening on June 3rd. Starting August 3rd (Monday) the library will be open Monday – Saturday 11-3.  Extra computers and two study rooms will be opened to the public.  

Five Year Capital Improvement Plan:  Discussion on the Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan(attached).
One of the projects is tile replacement of the roof. Since this is the original roof, Chris pointed out the possibility of replacing the entire roof.  

Trustee Manual: Chris Zimmerman suggested that we discuss any questions or concerns of the manual after everyone has received and read the manual.

Susan Wonderly: She asked if the planning of the future Phases could be put on the next agenda.  (Possible action items) 

Susan Wonderly: She suggested that the next board meeting should be on a Monday, August 10, at 11 a.m. 

2nd Public Comment: Carlton stated that some studies show children are safer in school during pandemics. He also asked by Chris was not wearing a mask.  They discussed it after the meeting. John Koenig spoke about bar closing and Corvid 10 cases in Nye County. 
 
Adjournment: Janice Painter made a motion to adjourn the meeting, and Bill Newyear seconded, and the motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 11:00

Closed for Renovations

We will be closed from December 16th, until the renovations are complete in the Spring of 2025. You can check out digital e-books and audio books using the Libby app on digital devices. Kanopy, a new streaming service is available to watch for free. The Kanopy app can be downloaded to smart T.V.s, mobile devices and desktops. Learn a new language for free using the Rosette Stone database. All of these services require a library card. All fines for overdue items will be waived if they are checked out and due after our closing date. The drop box will be open on most days, but will be closed from time to time if work is being done in that room. We can’t wait to have a re-grand opening in the Spring!
